Snow leopards live in a polar and high mountain ice biome they live in the harsh mountains of the Himalayas. To deal with such a harsh climate the snow leopard has made many adaptations such as:
1. Large Paws- Since the snow leopard lives in such a harsh environment they had to adapt in certain ways to survive. One of these ways were to grow bigger paws so they could travel on top of the thick snow without sinking into it as well. Having these extra large paws also help so that the snow leopard feet don't get cold while they are walking seeing as the paws are completely covered in its fur known as snowshoes.
2. Rosette Markings- Snow leopards have these very unique markings in them called rosette markings. They could be seen as a disadvantage because of how easily they are able to be spotted by others but its actually the contrary. These markings help them blend into their environment and make it easy for them to hunt seeing how their prey can't see them and help them become the perfect hunters.
3. Nose- Snow Leopards have a very wide and short nasal cavity to help with handling the thin air up in the mountains. The snow leopards nose also helps turns the cold air into warm for the snow leopard to inhale. The nose cavity really helps them survive in their difficult environment and prosper along with all the other animals in their environment.
